Description

Sorry about the quality, I need a scanner.
But,
Here it is,
My Skull crawler.

The skull crawler's linage begins with the formation of skull island's archipelago, around 90 million years ago. Early aigialosaurids colonized the wet lands of the archipelago. They hunted yinlong like ornithischians that browsed on the island. Once the k-pg extinction event occurred most of these strange varanoidea reptiles went extinct. Only one small semi-aquatic aigialosaurid species survived. With no competition on the islands these reptiles exploded in diversity. Forms ranging from arboreal to burrowing developed. During the late Eocene numerous species of reptiles, birds, and mammals had rafted over, wiping out much of the derived aigialosaurid diversity, only a few burrowing members survived. During the mid-Miocene a "small" extinction event occurred on the archipelago, a massive volcanic eruption (and the formation of skull island itself). This event wiped out nearly all the vertebrates on the island. The burrowing aigialosaurids pulled through and these reptiles would become larger due to a lack of competition and predators. This trend would continue to the present, creating the modern skull crawler. Along with this a satellite population on one of the smaller islands would return to their semi-aquatic roots.

The two species are
A. Craniaus
The larger one
A. Palus
The semi-aquatic one.

A. Craniaus, the true skull crawler, spends most of its day either sunning or burrowing. They create tunnel networks through out their territory, which they use to ambush prey, such as kongs or water buffalo. Skull crawlers leave large piles of bones lying around their main exits to mark their territory. Skull crawler saliva causes paralysis that can last for days in a human, but most creatures are consumed long before then.
